No Jobs Sold in Education Department; Merit and Transparency Top Priority, Says Balochistan Education Minister Raheela Hamid Khan Durrani

Quetta – Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hamid Khan Durrani has emphasized that the Balochistan government is committed to eradicating corruption in the education sector and ensuring that all recruitment and appointments are conducted transparently and on merit. She stated unequivocally that no jobs in the education department have been sold, nor will they be in the future.

Speaking at a ceremony organized at Government Girls Post Graduate College Quetta Cantt in collaboration with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan, Minister Durrani highlighted the importance of instilling integrity, discipline, and positive values among students and the youth. She said, “We live in a society where corruption appears in some form despite hard work and performance. It is our responsibility to guide the younger generation towards positive thinking and honesty.”

She noted that under the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, practical steps have been taken to make the education system merit-based and transparent. “Teachers are being recruited purely on merit and competence,” she added, emphasizing the government’s resolve to maintain transparency and eliminate corruption from the sector.

The event, which showcased provincial-level competitions organized by the Directorate of Colleges and Higher Education in partnership with NAB, aimed to promote integrity, creativity, and positive engagement among students. Competitions included Urdu and English speech contests, essay writing, poster making, painting, and creative writing, with 53 students from colleges across Balochistan participating enthusiastically.

Additional Director NAB Balochistan Imran Akhtar Majeed, Director of Colleges Prof. Muhammad Hussain Baloch, Joint Director Prof. Sadia Niaz, and Principal of the college Sadia Farooqi attended the event. The Minister distributed awards to students demonstrating outstanding performance and praised the collaboration between the Directorate of Colleges and NAB for fostering ethical and creative values among youth.

Minister Durrani concluded by stressing that students are the nation’s asset, and collective efforts are essential to eliminate corruption and put the country on the path of development.
