JUI Slams Quetta’s Elite for Ignoring Public Woes; Overbilling and Lack of Services Making Life Miserable

QUETTA : Leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Quetta district have strongly criticized the city’s elite and authorities for showing indifference toward the severe hardships faced by the residents.
In a joint statement, JUI Quetta Ameer Maulana Abdul Rahman Rafiq, General Secretary Haji Ainullah Shams, Patron-in-Chief Mufti Muhammad Rozi Khan, Sheikh Maulana Abdul Ahad, Maulana Abdul Baseer, Hafiz Rasheed Ahmed, Hafiz Masood Ahmed, Mufti Rozi Khan Badizai, Hafiz Sirajuddin, Mufti Naik Muhammad Farooqi, Maulvi Naqeebullah Malakhel and others said that despite the lack of basic facilities, residents are being burdened with “heavy and unjust overbilling,” making daily life unbearable.
They said the people of Quetta remain deprived of essential services as roads continue to deteriorate, waste management is in disarray, and access to clean drinking water is becoming increasingly scarce. The leaders added that the government’s negligence has pushed the city toward ruin.
The JUI leadership asserted that their party is the only political force offering hope to the people of Quetta. “Our politics is based not on personal interests but on public service, transparent leadership, and trustworthy representation,” they stated, adding that the party has always stood by the people in difficult times and will continue to play its role with the same commitment.
Regarding upcoming local government elections, the leaders said JUI would nominate honest, capable, and public-spirited candidates. They urged citizens to reject false promises and empty slogans and instead choose sincere representation.
“The time has come for the people of Quetta to hold accountable those responsible for their deprivation,” they said, appealing to the public to support and elect JUI candidates to ensure meaningful change in the city.
