PPP Lawmaker Haji Ali Madad Jatak Demands SSGC Stop “Step-Motherly” Treatment, Increase Gas Pressure in Quetta

**Quetta:** **Haji Ali Madad Jatak**, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and member of the Balochistan Assembly, strongly criticized **Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC)** for what he described as “step-motherly treatment” of the people of Quetta and the wider province. Speaking in support of a resolution presented by **Asghar Tareen**, Jatak highlighted that low gas pressure and prolonged load shedding have severely affected daily life.
He warned that in extremely cold areas such as **Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat, and Khan Mehterzai**, insufficient gas supply has forced residents to cut down valuable **pine forests** and rely on harsh shrubs and firewood for warmth, causing both hardship and environmental damage.
Jatak emphasized that this neglect amounts to **cruelty against the people of Balochistan** and contributes to dangerous levels of environmental pollution. He demanded that SSGC **immediately increase gas pressure** and ensure uninterrupted supply in cold regions through practical and timely measures.
The lawmaker’s remarks underscore growing frustration over the lack of essential services in Balochistan during harsh winter months.
