PkMAP Condemns “So-Called Parliament” for Attempted Alteration of Federal Constitutional Structure

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) — The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly criticized what it calls the “so-called Parliament” for attempting to alter Pakistan’s agreed federal constitutional framework, warning that the country is being pushed deeper into political and constitutional crises.

In a press release issued by the party’s central secretariat, PkMAP announced that the 52nd death anniversary of Khan Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai — a towering political leader of the subcontinent and Pashtun homeland — will be commemorated with great respect on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The central gathering will be held at Sadiq Shaheed Kasi Football Ground, Quetta, where PkMAP Chairman and head of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aeen Pakistan, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, along with allied leaders and other senior party officials, will address the public meeting.

The statement said the event will pay tribute to Khan Shaheed’s political vision, patriotism, national struggle, and unparalleled sacrifices for democratic and constitutional rights.

PkMAP noted that this year’s anniversary comes at a time when, according to the party, non-elected “Form-47 members” of the Assembly and their “so-called Parliament” are attempting to dismantle the country’s consensual federal constitutional structure. It added that Pakistan, already facing multidimensional crises, is being pushed toward further instability.

The press release accused the government of undermining political stability, eroding the constitutional authority of the Supreme Court and High Courts, curbing provincial autonomy, violating fundamental human rights, and suppressing media freedom. The party reiterated its outright rejection of the recently passed 27th Constitutional Amendment.

PkMAP further highlighted severe public hardships, including shortages of electricity, gas, and clean drinking water, as well as the withdrawal of internet services — actions the party described as clear violations of international laws, with particularly damaging consequences for the education sector.

The statement also condemned the deteriorating law and order situation, rising terrorism, discriminatory treatment of Pashtuns in Karachi, restrictions on trade with Afghanistan and Iran, and what it termed illegal actions over Pashtun mineral resources.

The party announced that a movement will soon be launched against the “imposed government,” its “unconstitutional amendments,” and for the political reconstruction of the country.

PkMAP urged all democratic, patriotic, and progressive citizens from every walk of life to participate in the public gathering at 1 PM on December 2 at Sadiq Kasi Shaheed Football Ground, Quetta.
