Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai Offers Guarantee on PTI Founder for Charter of Constitution and Democracy

ISLAMABAD – Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan, has offered to provide a guarantee regarding PTI founder Imran Khan for signing a Charter of Constitution and Democracy.

On Tuesday, the opposition leadership visited Bani Gala to express solidarity with Imran Khan’s sisters, Alima Khan and Noreen Khan, and to discuss obstacles in meeting him. During the meeting, Achakzai stated that if the authorities and ruling institutions agree to the five-point charter, it would be his responsibility to ensure Imran Khan’s compliance.

Alima Khan confirmed Achakzai’s stance. The opposition leaders reiterated their commitment to struggle for constitutional reforms and the protection of democracy. Senate opposition leader Allama Nasir Abbas announced that a nationwide protest is scheduled for Friday. The opposition emphasized that their struggle will continue until the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments are repealed and political prisoners are released.
