Decision Taken to Remove CM Sarfraz Bugti Over Poor Governance, Claims Senator Dostain Domki; PPP Parliamentary Secretary Confirms Change

ISLAMABAD – QUETTA – In a major political development, senior PML-N leader and Senator Mir Dostain Khan Domki has claimed that the decision to remove Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has been finalized due to severe governance failures. Pakistan Peoples Party’s Parliamentary Secretary Liaquat Lehri has also confirmed that a change of chief minister is underway.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Senator Domki alleged that the CM demonstrated “zero performance” and misused development funds. He claimed that Sarfraz Bugti diverted the entire budget to his own constituency and mismanaged the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), favouring unelected individuals instead of elected representatives.
Domki added that PPP has begun consultations on the name of the new chief minister and that an in-house change will take place soon. “The new chief minister will be from the PPP. Nearly 40 billion rupees were released to the provincial government, yet no audit was conducted, and no disaster occurred to justify such expenditure. All of this must be held accountable,” he stated.
PPP Parliamentary Secretary Liaquat Lehri also confirmed the plan to replace CM Bugti, stating that the majority of members want a new chief minister.
“We are trying to bring in a new face—someone who understands Balochistan’s problems and is capable of solving them,” Lehri said. “Most of our members support a change in leadership. The new CM will be decided by the party’s top leadership, and whoever they nominate will be accepted.”
Lehri further noted that the party is prioritizing the interests of Balochistan and its people. “The chief minister conveyed one picture to the leadership, but ground realities are completely different. We have presented the true situation to our leadership, and we will follow whatever decision they make,” he added.
