Balochistan Faces Severe Economic Crisis, Unemployment, and Lack of Basic Facilities, Says Agha Hasan Advocate

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) — Agha Hasan Advocate, Central Secretary of Information for the Balochistan National Party (BNP), has expressed deep concern over the worsening situation in Balochistan, stating that the province’s population is grappling with an acute economic crisis, rising unemployment, and a severe shortage of basic facilities.
In a statement, Agha Hasan said that border and remote areas of Balochistan, including Chaman, Bazlee, Noshki, Turbat, Gwadar, Jiwani, and other border regions, remain effectively closed, leaving residents struggling to access essential goods and basic necessities. He warned that the province is experiencing unprecedented hardship due to current government policies, which have further deepened underdevelopment and economic difficulties.
Agha Hasan highlighted that cities, including Quetta, are facing severe gas shortages, with available supplies subjected to 10–14 hours of load shedding. Electricity and water services are also inadequate. Business activities across the province have stalled, employment opportunities are scarce, and social systems are under extreme pressure.
Criticizing the current government, he said that the rulers under Form 47 remain disconnected from the public and have failed to address citizens’ core problems. He added that traffic systems, roads, schools, and commercial centers lack proper governance, causing daily hardships for residents.
Agha Hasan emphasized that under the leadership of BNP President Akhtar Jan Mengal, the party will continue to fight against injustice, oppression, and for the recovery of missing persons. He concluded that the Form 47 administration has completely failed in ensuring citizens’ fundamental rights and the province’s development, and stressed the urgent need for genuine democratic processes and political action to address Balochistan’s pressing issues.
