Muzaffarabad: The no-confidence motion against Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has succeeded, leading to the election of **Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore** as the new Prime Minister.
The session of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, presided over by Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar, saw the no-confidence motion moved by Sardar Javed Ayub, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, and others. In the motion, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore was nominated as the alternative Leader of the House.
Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore secured **36 votes**, while only **two votes** were cast in opposition, confirming his election as the new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
Before the vote, outgoing Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq delivered his final address, questioning how a single individual could be held responsible for constitutional and administrative failures, and stressed that members of his cabinet also shared responsibility.
Following the successful motion, Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore is expected to take oath tomorrow. However, sources indicate that due to illness, President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood will not administer the oath. Instead, Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar will swear in the new Prime Minister.
