Deadline for Vehicle M-Tags Ends in Islamabad; DG Excise Announces 24/7 Service Centers

**Islamabad:** The deadline for installing M-Tags on vehicles in the federal capital has officially ended. To facilitate citizens, the Director General (DG) Excise has announced that two M-Tag centers will now operate 24/7.

The DG Excise stated that M-Tag services will be available around the clock at the 26 Number Chowngi and 17 Mile (Phagran) toll plazas.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Memon, added that M-Tag counters at Kachnar Park in Sector I-8 and Sector F-9 Park will remain open until midnight. The decision aims to make the M-Tag process more convenient for residents.

From tomorrow, vehicles without M-Tags will face action, as the DC Islamabad, along with the DG Safe City, visited various checkpoints to review M-Tag readers. Chief Traffic Officer and SSP Operations were also present.

DC Irfan Memon said that M-Tag readers will be used to stop vehicles without tags at checkpoints, with initial operations planned at 12 locations. Citizens are urged to get their M-Tags immediately to avoid inconvenience, with 16 service points currently operational across the city.
