AJK Assembly to Vote on No-Confidence Motion Against Prime Minister on Monday

Muzaffarabad:The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly has been summoned on Monday for voting on the no-confidence motion filed by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) against Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq.

The PPP claims to have secured the support of **over 35 members** in favour of its nominee for the prime minister’s office, **Faisal Mumtaz Rathore**.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a complete **boycott** of the in-house change. PTI President Abdul Qayyum Niazi criticised the political manoeuvre, questioning, *“What kind of democracy is this where PPP forms a government with the help of 14 PTI defectors?”*

Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party (JKPP) lawmaker **Sardar Hassan Ibrahim** has decided to remain **neutral** during the voting process.

Sources indicate that Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq is prepared to face the no-confidence motion and respond to the assembly.

Separately, PPP Chairman **Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari** met the party’s AJK prime ministerial nominee Faisal Mumtaz Rathore at Zardari House in Islamabad. Bilawal emphasised that resolving the issues of the AJK people would be Rathore’s foremost responsibility. He urged him to strengthen public engagement to stay updated on citizens’ concerns.
