Traffic Chaos and Road Closures in Quetta Have Become Unbearable, Says Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party

**QUETTA (Qudrat Daily)** — The **Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP)** has expressed deep concern over the worsening traffic situation, frequent road closures, and growing hardships faced by citizens in Quetta, saying the city’s traffic system has become completely paralyzed.
In an official statement, the party said that **Almo Chowk, BA Mall, Serena Chowk, Sariab Road, and Zarghoon Road** are among the main arteries that suffer from severe traffic congestion on a daily basis, leaving students, government employees, patients, and traders in distress.
Following the **terrorist incident near Model Town**, the **closure of Model Road** and the series of **Frontier Corps (FC) check posts from Beleli checkpoint to the city** have further restricted public mobility, the statement noted.
The party proposed that, for security reasons, the **FC Headquarters should be relocated from its current position to the cantonment area** to ease civilian movement and restore the smooth flow of traffic.
According to PNAP, the heavy influx of vehicles entering Quetta via the **Beleli route** has caused severe disruptions across the Pashtun-populated areas, with citizens often trapped in vehicles for hours.
The statement also criticized the **unnecessary behavior of some traffic officials**, urging the government to **immediately establish a Traffic Management Bureau** and formulate an effective long-term policy to permanently resolve the city’s traffic woes.
The party emphasized that Quetta’s citizens deserve to live with **peace and convenience**, and that restoring mobility and proper traffic management must be treated as an urgent public priority.
