Islamabad Court Suicide Attack Ends Hopes of Successful Kabul Talks, Says Defense Minister

Islamabad: Following the **suicide attack near Islamabad’s district judicial complex**, Defense Minister **Khawaja Asif** warned that terrorists have extended the war from border regions into the heart of Pakistan, stating that the **hopes for successful negotiations with Kabul are now over**.
Speaking to journalists, Khawaja Asif said the group **Fitna al-Khawarij TTP** is an extension of the **Afghan Taliban**. He described the **G-11 courthouse attack** as a “wake-up call,” emphasizing that the fight against terrorism is **a nationwide struggle**.
He added that the **Kabul authorities have the ability to stop terrorism from being exported into Pakistan**, and the attack reaching Islamabad sends a clear message. Khawaja Asif stressed that Pakistan is fully capable of **responding decisively**.
“The country is in a **state of war**, and under these conditions, expecting successful negotiations with Kabul is futile,” he said, highlighting the **sacrifices of the Pakistan Army** in providing security and reassurance to the public.
The attack on the **Islamabad District Judicial Complex** killed **12 people** and injured **27 others**. Police reported that the suicide bomber’s head was recovered at the scene, while the wounded were transported to **PIMS Hospital**. Investigators have collected evidence from the parking area where the explosion occurred, and the blast was reportedly heard as far as the **Police Lines Headquarters**.
