“We’ll Send Tough Questions to Federal Constitutional Court,” Says Justice Mansoor Ali Shah

Islamabad: Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of the Federal Constitutional Court made a lighthearted remark during a hearing, saying, “If there is a very difficult question, we send it to the Federal Constitutional Court.”

The two-judge bench, comprising Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Aqeel Abbasi, was hearing a case related to the promotion of Dr. Azam Ali, associated with the Livestock Department Punjab.

During the proceedings, the petitioner’s lawyer argued that his client had been overlooked for promotion while junior officers were promoted. In response, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said, “Show us the documents that juniors were promoted and your client was ignored. If it’s a very difficult question, we can send it to the Federal Constitutional Court. We poor judges are already helpless here anyway.”

His remarks drew laughter in the courtroom. Subsequently, the Supreme Court dismissed the petition.
