Balochistan Imposes Section 144 Amid Security Concerns

QUETTA:The Government of Balochistan has imposed Section 144 across the province in view of the prevailing law and order situation. A formal notification to this effect has been issued by the provincial Home Department.
According to the notification, covering the face in public places using scarves, masks, mufflers, or any other item that hinders identification has been banned. The order also prohibits motorcycle pillion riding (except for women and children), the use of unregistered motorcycles, vehicles with tinted windows, and the display or use of firearms.
Additionally, public gatherings of five or more people, rallies, and sit-ins have been banned. The transportation of sulfuric acid and explosive materials has also been strictly prohibited.

The order took effect on **November 9, 2025**, and will remain in force until **November 30, 2025**.
The Home Department has directed police, Levies, and Frontier Corps personnel to ensure strict implementation of the order. Violators will face legal action under **Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC)**.
All deputy commissioners have been instructed to submit daily compliance reports to the Home Department.
The new restrictions were implemented following amendments to the Home Department’s earlier notification issued on **November 5, 2025**.
