**Quetta (Daily Qudrat)** — Tension has once again escalated along the **Pak-Afghan border in Chaman**, after **Afghan forces reportedly attempted to infiltrate Pakistani territory**, prompting a **swift and strong response from the Pakistan Army**.
According to sources, the **exchange of fire and mortar shelling** between both sides continued for several hours near the **Mazal Gali** border village, with explosions heard miles away. Reports indicate that several shells landed near the **Wesh border area** on the Afghan side, forcing local shopkeepers to **shut down markets and seek shelter** in safer locations.
Sources said that **Afghan forces initiated unprovoked firing** and tried to breach the border, but were effectively repelled by Pakistani troops. The **Pakistan Army responded with full force** and has since **deployed additional contingents** along the frontier to reinforce security.
