Reports of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s Resignation Echo Inside His Own Courtroom
Islamabad: Reports regarding the alleged resignation of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri were brought up during proceedings in his own courtroom on Monday.
According to private TV channel *Express News*, during the hearing, Advocate Hafiz Arafat Ahmed addressed Justice Jahangiri, expressing concern over circulating news. “We are hearing very troubling reports,” the lawyer said. “It is independent-minded judges like you who keep this system strong.”
He added, “What we are hearing is extremely unfortunate. You have done tremendous work for this court. We should not be hearing such news. The judiciary needs judges like you who stand firm and independent.”
Justice Tariq Jahangiri listened to the remarks but chose not to respond or offer any comment on the matter.
