27 Shops Sealed in Karachi for Selling Chemically Contaminated Milk

Karachi: Authorities in Karachi have uncovered the sale of chemically adulterated milk, sealing seven more shops on Tuesday — bringing the total number of sealed milk outlets to 27.
According to a statement issued by Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi, the crackdown against adulterated milk is ongoing. On Tuesday, three shops were sealed in the South district, three in the East district, and one in Malir.
A spokesperson for the commissioner’s office said that within just two days, a total of 27 milk shops have been sealed for selling hazardous, substandard milk.
The decision was reaffirmed during a meeting chaired by Commissioner Hassan Naqvi, attended by the Director General of the Food Authority and other officials. The meeting resolved to continue strict inspections and testing to ensure milk quality and curb adulteration.
Commissioner Naqvi stated that sealed shops will not be reopened without heavy fines and written assurances from owners that only pure, unadulterated milk will be sold in the future.
