Journalist Claims PPP’s Deal Includes Lifetime Immunity for Zardari After Presidency
LAHORE:Journalist **Qamber Zaidi** has claimed that the **Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)** has finalized a political deal ensuring that **former President Asif Ali Zardari** will enjoy **complete lifetime immunity** from all past and future legal cases once he leaves the office of President.
In a post on *X* (formerly Twitter), Zaidi stated that under this reported arrangement, **no new or old cases** — including the **Fake Bank Accounts**, **Toshakhana**, **Kotakna**, or **Swiss cases** — will be initiated or reopened against Zardari after his presidency ends.
He added that the proposed **27th Constitutional Amendment** grants such **permanent immunity**, similar to that proposed for the **Field Marshal** under the same amendment.
Zaidi further claimed that the **Prime Minister** has also sought similar protection, reportedly stating that since such immunities are being formalized, **the Prime Minister should also be granted full immunity during their tenure**.
