MP Sher Afzal Marwat Loses Temper in Viral Video, Hurls Abusive Remarks at PTI Workers

Islamabad: A video of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly **Sher Afzal Marwat** has gone viral after he angrily lashed out at party workers and used highly unparliamentary language during an exchange with a journalist. The clip shows Marwat refusing to continue the interview after he was questioned about social-media comments he made concerning party affairs.
The journalist asked Marwat about a past post in which he had offered advice to **Sohail Afridi** — a newly elected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister — and whether that post had sown discord among PTI activists. In response, Marwat grew visibly agitated and said, **“You have no idea that for the past one-and-a-half years a certain kind of creature has been after me, whose birth…,”** before launching into a tirade of abusive language directed at PTI supporters.
After delivering the expletive-laden remarks, Marwat left the scene and declined to speak further. The video quickly spread across social media, prompting a sharp reaction from PTI activists who criticized him for his choice of words and tone.
**Why the controversy began**
The confrontation follows comments by **Sohail Afridi**, who said in a recent speech that he had been addressed in a highly disrespectful manner and alleged that the insults came from senior government officials rather than from low-level sources. Responding to Afridi’s remarks on Twitter, Sher Afzal Marwat warned that the situation had taken a regrettable turn, arguing that Afridi’s words made reconciliation appear unlikely. Marwat wrote that Afridi had allegedly faced unjust ridicule and baseless accusations immediately after his nomination, and suggested that matters were moving toward a direct confrontation — a development he said would harm both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s interests and PTI’s future.
Marwat urged the party to pursue constitutional and legal avenues while operating within the system, warning against hardline confrontation and insisting that the PTI must protect its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to remain politically relevant.
The viral clip and Marwat’s earlier tweets have intensified debate within PTI ranks, with many party workers expressing anger over his public outburst and others calling for calm and internal dialogue. The episode adds to growing tensions within PTI as leaders and activists continue to publicly dispute strategy and messaging.
