Simple Habits That Make Tea Even Healthier

Islamabad: Tea is generally considered a healthy beverage, but its **true health benefits are maximized when consumed hot**, according to a new medical study published in the *British Journal of Medicine*.

The research found that **hot beverages like tea and coffee** not only help reduce anxiety but also play an important role in maintaining **emotional balance**.

Experts highlighted that the **temperature** of a drink, along with its ingredients, has a significant impact on both the **body and mind**.

The study involved **over 400 adult participants** to examine how the temperature of food and drinks affects physical and mental health. Results showed that individuals who consumed **cold tea or coffee** experienced higher levels of **insomnia and anxiety**, whereas those who regularly drank **hot tea or coffee** reported **lower rates of depression, sleep disturbances, and digestive issues**.

The study also noted that people with **circulatory problems** tend to be more sensitive to cold foods and drinks.

Previous research has similarly shown that **warm meals and beverages** support **better digestion and emotional stability**.

According to health experts, drinking **2 to 4 cups of tea per day** is generally safe, while some studies suggest that even **up to 10 cups daily** may not be harmful. However, most specialists agree that **3 to 5 cups per day** is ideal for most people — higher amounts may occasionally cause side effects depending on individual body responses.
