Punjab Achieves Target of Interest-Free Loans for 100,000 Families Under “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” Project

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister **Maryam Nawaz Sharif** has announced the successful completion of the target to provide **interest-free and easy loans to 100,000 low-income families** under the **“Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” (My Roof, My Home)** housing initiative.

According to *Dunya News*, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed gratitude over achieving this milestone, calling it a **landmark achievement** for underprivileged families across the province. She said that providing **interest-free loans** to low-income citizens has set a **new precedent** in public welfare and housing development.

Under the project, **Rs 120 billion** worth of loans have been disbursed within **10 months** to **100,835 families**. So far, **22,305 houses** have been completed, while construction of **64,190 homes** is in the final stages.

Maryam Nawaz stated that the initiative has not only **revolutionized the housing sector** but has also **fulfilled the lifelong dream** of thousands of poor families to own a home. She congratulated the project team for achieving a **one-year target in just 10 months**, terming it a **model of efficient governance and public service**.

She also expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister **Nawaz Sharif**, praising his vision and compassion for the poor, which made this project possible.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed her commitment to expanding the program, stating that the government aims to **build 500,000 homes within five years** under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” initiative. She emphasized that for the first time, ordinary citizens are realizing that **the state truly cares for them like a mother**, dedicated to their welfare and prosperity.
