Balochistan Govt Signs Agreement with Harley Healthcare to Establish First Medical, Dental, and Nursing College

Quetta: In a landmark step to promote quality medical education, the Government of Balochistan has signed an agreement with Harley Healthcare Services to establish the province’s first-ever medical, dental, and nursing college under a public-private partnership model.

According to the briefing given to Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the new institution will enroll 100 students annually in medical, dental, nursing, and allied health sciences programs. Sixteen outstanding students will be awarded full scholarships each year. The project will be expanded in phases to accommodate up to 600 students.

Calling the initiative a milestone in advancing healthcare education in the province, CM Bugti said the project would provide Balochistan’s youth access to world-class medical education locally, eliminating the need to go abroad. *“This step will prepare the province’s future doctors and nurses while benefiting talented students from even the remotest areas of Balochistan,”* he noted.

The chief minister emphasized that education and healthcare remain top priorities for his government and that this project will contribute significantly to strengthening the province’s healthcare system.

The MoU was signed by Higher Education Secretary Saleh Muhammad Baloch and Harley Healthcare Services CEO Dr. Azhar Aslam. The signing ceremony was attended by CM Sarfraz Bugti, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Provincial Minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panezai, Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, Balochistan Public-Private Partnership Authority head Dr. Faisal Khan, and Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar.
