Security Forces Kill 10 Indian-Backed Militants in Successful Quetta Operation

Quetta: Security forces carried out a major intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the mountainous Agberg area near Ghaza Band on the outskirts of Quetta, killing 10 alleged Indian-backed militants late Tuesday night. Two security personnel were also injured during the intense exchange of fire.

According to security sources, the operation was launched following credible intelligence reports regarding the presence of a militant group involved in multiple terrorist activities. The group was reportedly linked to banned outfits allegedly receiving support from India.

Teams from the Frontier Corps (FC), Pakistan Army, and other law enforcement agencies jointly participated in the raid. When security forces surrounded the area, the militants opened heavy fire, sparking a fierce two-hour gun battle that resulted in the deaths of 10 militants. Several of them were later identified as being involved in past terrorist attacks.

The bodies of the slain militants were moved from the site, while their blood samples and fingerprints were preserved for further investigation. A large cache of weapons was recovered, including AK-47 rifles, grenades, rocket launchers, heavy machine guns, and a significant quantity of ammunition. Authorities stated that the seized material was intended for future terror operations.

Two security personnel injured during the clash were shifted to a military hospital in Quetta, where medical sources confirmed their condition as stable. No civilian casualties were reported as the area had been completely sealed off to prevent any militant escape.

The operation comes amid rising terrorist incidents in Balochistan. Just a day earlier, a suicide attack on the FC Headquarters in Quetta’s Model Town left 12 civilians dead, dozens injured, and six attackers neutralized.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) emphasized that security forces remain fully committed to eliminating terrorism across the country. Following the operation, security was further tightened in Quetta and other parts of the province.

The Balochistan government hailed the operation as timely and effective, praising the performance of the security forces. Local authorities have advised residents near the operation site to restrict unnecessary movement until further notice.
