Eight Muslim States — Including Pakistan and Saudi Arabia — Welcome Trump Plan for Gaza Ceasefire

Islamabad / Riyadh: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and six other Muslim-majority countries have welcomed a U.S.-backed plan proposed by former President Donald Trump aimed at ending the Gaza conflict and facilitating an immediate ceasefire.

The eight countries — **Pakistan, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Qatar** — issued supportive statements praising what they described as sincere efforts to halt hostilities and to open a path toward a lasting ceasefire and reconstruction in Gaza.

Foreign ministers of Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Turkey, Qatar and Egypt released a joint declaration expressing readiness for “positive, constructive dialogue” with the United States and the parties to the conflict. The statement welcomed measures to prevent Israeli annexation in the West Bank and reiterated support for a two-state solution and the establishment of a viable Palestinian state.

Key elements of the proposed plan, as described by supporters, include: an immediate ceasefire and halt to active fighting along current frontlines; formation of a temporary interim authority in Gaza composed of Palestinians and international experts operating under a new international body; the rapid and equitable delivery of humanitarian aid through the UN and other agencies; safe corridors for civilians and those Hamas members who wish to leave; disarmament or destruction of Hamas’s offensive weaponry; and provisions for the release and return of hostages — including a proposed timeline for the release of living hostages and the return of remains.

Supporters said the plan also calls for broad international cooperation on Gaza’s reconstruction and for measures to ensure implementation and accountability. Pakistan described the ceasefire proposal and commitments to prevent displacement as a positive step toward peace, while the group reaffirmed its collective commitment to regional stability, security and a negotiated two-state solution.
