Pakistan to Launch Advanced Hyperspectral Satellite in October 2025

Islamabad: Pakistan is set to take another revolutionary step in the field of space technology as preparations to launch a state-of-the-art hyperspectral satellite have been completed. Developed under the leadership of the national space agency SUPARCO, the satellite is scheduled to be launched in October 2025.
The new hyperspectral satellite is designed to support multiple sectors, including mineral exploration, agricultural development, flood monitoring, glacier melt observation, and air pollution studies.
Speaking at the inauguration of a workshop, SUPARCO Chairman Muhammad Yousaf Khan said, *“This satellite will provide accurate and advanced data on minerals, vegetation, soil, and water quality. Surveys that previously took years will now be completed in just a few days.”*
He further emphasized that the project will pave the way for sustainable and efficient use of natural resources. The technology will assist policymakers and researchers in making timely, evidence-based decisions crucial for Pakistan’s economic and environmental growth.
With this milestone, Pakistan is moving closer to becoming a regional hub of space technology, showcasing SUPARCO’s commitment to serving national interests while meeting global standards.
