Peshawar High Court Grants Transit Bail to Imaan Mazari and Husband Hadi Ali Chattha

PESHAWAR: The **Peshawar High Court** on Tuesday granted **transit bail** to advocate and human rights activist **Imaan Mazari** and her husband **Hadi Ali Chattha** until **October 9**, directing them to appear before the relevant court by that date.
The petition for transit bail was heard by **Chief Justice S.M. Atiq Shah**. Imaan Mazari’s legal team, including Ataullah Kundi, Jehanzeb Mehsud, Tariq Afghan, and Additional Attorney General Sanaullah, appeared before the court.
During the proceedings, Justice Atiq Shah inquired whether both petitioners were practicing lawyers. Counsel confirmed that they were and intended to appear before the trial court in Islamabad, where a case has been registered against Imaan Mazari.
In a lighter exchange, the chief justice asked Mazari if this was her first time at the Peshawar High Court, to which she replied affirmatively. “Well, at least the FIR brought you to Peshawar — you hardly ever come to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” the judge remarked.
In response, Advocate Ataullah Kundi noted that Mazari has consistently raised her voice for the oppressed people of **Khyber Pakhtunkhwa** and **Balochistan**.
The court ultimately granted the couple **transit bail until October 9**, allowing them to seek relief from the competent court in Islamabad.
