High Flood Persists at Sukkur Barrage, Several Villages Inundated

Sukkur – A high-level flood continues at the Sukkur Barrage, though authorities expect water levels to recede within the next 24 hours. Floodwaters are now moving towards Kotri Barrage, submerging areas along the way.

In Rohri, the DSP office located near the riverbank was inundated, forcing officials to shift all records to other offices. In Naushahro Feroze, breaches in multiple protective embankments caused water to enter at least five villages of tehsil Moro, while several feet of water accumulated in Gulam Nabi Brohi village.

Although the water level has dropped at Guddu Barrage, pressure remains high in katcha (riverine) areas, damaging standing crops. In Larkana, floodwaters reached the Aqil Agani loop embankment, but residents of katcha areas refused to evacuate.

Meanwhile, in Dadu, breaches near agricultural embankments in Mehar’s katcha belt submerged several villages.
