Sindh Govt Ensures Maximum Relief During Flood Emergency: Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the provincial government is fully committed to providing maximum relief to people affected by floods and natural calamities, ensuring they are not left alone in this crisis.
In a statement, he said that relief operations are in full swing, with victims being shifted to safe locations. Arrangements have also been made for food, medical treatment, and the care of livestock.
According to Memon, water levels remain high at Guddu and Sukkur barrages, while Kotri Barrage is experiencing low-level flooding. Guddu recorded an inflow of 624,456 cusecs and an outflow of 594,936 cusecs, Sukkur registered 560,890 cusecs inflow and 508,830 cusecs outflow, while Kotri saw 284,325 cusecs inflow and 273,170 cusecs outflow.
During the past 24 hours, 3,522 people were relocated to safer areas, bringing the total number of evacuated individuals to 173,027. Of them, 469 people remain housed in relief camps.
The minister further stated that 183 fixed and mobile health sites are operating across the province, where 4,174 patients received treatment in the last 24 hours. To date, 92,958 people have benefited from medical services.
For livestock protection, 3,192 animals were shifted to safe areas in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 450,571. Additionally, 39,589 animals were vaccinated and treated, bringing the overall tally to 1,305,573 livestock receiving medical care and vaccinations.
