High Flood at Guddu Barrage, Medium Flood at Sukkur Barrage: Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI: Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that a high flood is currently passing through Guddu Barrage while Sukkur Barrage is experiencing a medium-level flood.
In a statement, the provincial information minister said that the Sindh government is closely monitoring the situation at all barrages and is fully engaged in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts to protect lives and property.
He informed that Panjnad is facing a high flood with upstream and downstream flows recorded at 402,919 cusecs. At Guddu Barrage, the upstream flow was recorded at 612,269 cusecs and downstream at 582,942 cusecs. Sukkur Barrage recorded upstream at 488,820 cusecs and downstream at 438,390 cusecs, while Kotri Barrage reported 274,129 cusecs upstream and 261,399 cusecs downstream.
During the past 24 hours, 5,269 people were shifted to safer locations, bringing the total number of displaced persons to 163,364. Around 252 people from riverine (katcha) areas were moved to relief camps, where the total number of residents now stands at 469.
Memon said that the Sindh government has set up 177 fixed and mobile health sites. In the last 24 hours, 6,596 patients were treated, raising the overall number of treated patients to 84,118.
He further added that 11,569 livestock were moved to safer places in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 438,835. In addition, 51,308 animals were vaccinated and treated, taking the overall figure to 1,232,223.
