KP Chief Minister Served Rs110 Million Defamation Notice Over Allegations Against Journalist

Islamabad: A journalist has served Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur a defamation notice worth over Rs110 million for allegedly making false accusations during a press conference.
According to Express News, journalist Abdullah Mehmood had questioned the Chief Minister in Islamabad regarding an internal dispute involving Faisal Amin, Kamran Bangash, and Taimur Jhagra, as well as claims that Faisal Amin was effectively running the province.
In response, Gandapur reportedly asked the journalist’s name and accused him of taking contracts and money, sparking immediate protest from the journalist.
Following the incident, Abdullah Mehmood, through his lawyer Ghulam Qasim Bhatti, issued a legal notice to the Chief Minister, demanding a public apology within seven days. The notice stated that failure to apologize would result in legal action and a damages claim exceeding Rs110 million.
The text of the notice emphasized that Gandapur must apologize in the same manner and before the same media presence in which the allegation was made.
If the Chief Minister fails to comply, the journalist has warned of pursuing legal proceedings.
