Garment Factory Collapses After Fire in New Karachi

Karachi:A **three-storey garment factory in New Karachi’s Sector 8-A** collapsed after a massive fire broke out on Tuesday morning.

According to fire brigade officials, the blaze started around **7:00 am in the basement** and quickly engulfed the entire building. At the time of the incident, **200 to 300 workers were inside the factory**, but they were safely evacuated.

Fire officials said that **26 to 27 firefighters**, assisted by **eight fire tenders**, took part in the rescue operation. After a **two-hour battle**, the flames were brought under control, while surrounding buildings were also evacuated as a precaution.

The structure later **collapsed during the cooling process due to weakened foundations**. Authorities are currently clearing the debris and carrying out a search operation to ensure no one remains trapped.
