PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Says Party’s Mandate Still Not Accepted

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has expressed disappointment over the party’s performance in the Haripur by-election, stating that PTI had expected its mandate to be accepted this time.
Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said the party had endured immense hardships with the belief that their mandate would finally be acknowledged. “If we had known that our mandate would still not be accepted, we would not have contested the by-elections,” he added.
He said PTI failed to retain its own seat in Haripur despite winning it previously. “Not being given a seat we had already won is not a good sign for democracy. Now in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and everywhere else, someone else’s authority is prevailing. This is injustice.”
Barrister Gohar also complained that despite court orders, PTI founder Imran Khan is still not being allowed to meet party leaders. “We come every time with the hope of meeting him, but our patience is wearing thin,” he stated.
