State’s Crackdown on Democratic Voices in Balochistan Alarming, Says BSO-Pajjar

QUETTA:The central spokesperson of **BSO-Pajjar** has strongly condemned the widespread crackdown on democratic parties and student organizations in Balochistan, calling it a “dangerous trend” that undermines parliamentary politics and exposes the state’s failure.
According to the statement, leaders and workers of **National Party, BNP, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, BSO-Pajjar, and PSO** were arrested, baton-charged, and subjected to excessive force in recent protests. The spokesperson said such actions “reflect state repression and a denial of democratic space in Balochistan.”
The statement warned that suppressing peaceful democratic voices will only deepen frustration among the youth:
> “If democratic struggles are blocked, the consequences will be severe. Arrests and violence cannot silence movements; they will only provoke greater resistance.”
The spokesperson added that BSO-Pajjar has always stood for **peaceful struggle, democratic values, and people’s rights**, and will not be deterred by jails or state violence. Instead, such measures “only strengthen our resolve and give further energy to our movement.”
Finally, BSO-Pajjar appealed to all democratic and progressive forces across Pakistan to unite against state repression and to safeguard democracy:
> “True democracy can only survive if every citizen and organization enjoys equal rights to express their political beliefs and conduct political activities.”
