US Delegation Explores Pakistan’s Vast Mineral Resources, Meets PM and Army Chief

ISLAMABAD: A high-level **US delegation representing three leading mining and infrastructure firms** visited Pakistan from **September 7 to 9** to explore opportunities in copper, gold, silver, and rare earth mineral extraction.
The delegation, comprising members of **United States Strategic Metals** and **Mota Angel**, held meetings with **Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff, Petroleum Minister, and Federal Commerce Minister**. During the engagements, they were briefed on Pakistan’s vast mineral reserves, including copper, gold, and rare earth elements.
Facilitated by the **US Embassy in Pakistan**, the visit underscored the strengthening of bilateral economic and investment ties. The visiting companies expressed willingness to invest in **value-addition facilities, mineral processing capacity enhancement, and large-scale infrastructure projects** linked to the mining sector.
Two **Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)** were signed between the two governments, focusing on the development and processing of **critical minerals, including rare earth elements (REEs), and logistics services**.
Officials described the visit as a **milestone in Pakistan’s efforts to attract global investment** in its mining and logistics sectors.
