Pakistan-Russia Agreement on New Steel Mill in Karachi Expected Soon: Russian Consul General

Karachi: Russian Consul General Andrey Viktorovich Fedorov has stated that a Pakistan-Russia agreement for the establishment of a new steel mill in Karachi is expected to be finalized soon.
Speaking to an Arab newspaper, he said the new project aims to revive industrial and investment cooperation between the two countries that dates back to the pre-Cold War era.
The Russian Consul General revealed that Pakistan-Russia negotiations on the new steel mill were held on May 27, 2025, and that experts from both countries are currently working on the framework for the project.
He added that a Russian team has already inspected the proposed site for the steel mill, and another delegation will soon visit Pakistan to finalize the planning and roadmap.
