Why Was Mohsin Naqvi Not Named in the Contempt of Court Petition? Hamid Mir Reveals Key Details
ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist and analyst Hamid Mir has revealed the reasons why Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was not named as a respondent in the contempt of court petition filed over PTI founder Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital.
Speaking on Dunya News’ programme, Mir said that when Naqvi visited PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan to offer condolences over the death of his mother, Gohar informed him that Imran Khan’s health had deteriorated significantly and that he urgently needed to be shifted to a hospital.
According to Mir, Naqvi advised Gohar to pursue the matter through legal channels and assured him that the government would have no objection to the transfer.

Mir further claimed that Naqvi remained in regular contact with Gohar afterward. He said that until around 8pm on the night of the proposed transfer, Gohar had been informed that Imran Khan would be taken specifically to Shifa International Hospital.
However, according to the senior journalist, a specific group within the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) intervened at the last moment, citing a review petition filed in the Supreme Court and the gathering of PTI workers outside Shifa International Hospital as reasons for changing the decision.
As a result, Mir said, Imran Khan was transferred to PIMS Hospital instead of Shifa International Hospital.
He clarified that since Naqvi had remained in contact with Barrister Gohar and had allegedly cooperated regarding the proposed hospital transfer, the PTI did not include the interior minister as a respondent in its contempt of court petition.
