Attack After Attaullah Mengal’s Death Anniversary a Conspiracy Against Baloch Political Leadership: NP Spokesman

Quetta: National Party central spokesperson Ali Ahmed Lango has said that political and democratic movements in Balochistan have faced conspiracies since day one. He termed the **blast that occurred after the death anniversary of veteran leader Sardar Attaullah Mengal on September 2** as a **planned attempt to eliminate Balochistan’s political leadership**.
He stated that the incident was a continuation of the **August 8, 2016 tragedy**, when lawyers were targeted to snatch away Balochistan’s collective wisdom. “The September 2 attack was aimed at silencing the province’s political consciousness and leadership,” he said.
Ali Ahmed Lango stressed that **killing political workers is not just the loss of human lives but an assault on Balochistan’s social evolution and intellectual spirit**. Despite such “bloody conspiracies and cowardly acts,” he said, political parties will not step back from their struggle.
He added that Balochistan’s history is full of sacrifices and its people will always defend their leadership, national movement, and democratic rights. “The rulers attempt to suppress the voice of the Baloch people through force, but this voice will only emerge stronger,” he asserted.
Announcing a **shutter-down and wheel-jam strike on September 8**, Lango said it would serve as a **peaceful democratic protest and a referendum against nefarious designs**.
BNP Qalat joint secretary Mir Salahuddin Lango and Mir Hafeez Mengal also vowed to continue the province’s political and democratic struggle without hesitation, urging people to fully support the protest.
On the occasion, other National Party leaders including **Town Vice Chairman Chakar Khan Muhammad Shahi, Tehsil President Amir Hamza Lango, Councilor Saeed Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, and Councilor Munir Ahmed Muhammad Shahi** were also present.
