Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Criticizes Nadia Khan, Suggests Maria Khan and Atiqa Odho Should Learn Urdu

Lahore: Renowned Pakistani playwright and poet Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has responded to criticism of his dramas, taking aim at several well-known personalities including Nadia Khan, Maria Khan, and Atiqa Odho.

Speaking on journalist Ambreen Fatima’s YouTube channel, Qamar said Nadia Khan had no connection with acting, adding, *“She neither knows Urdu nor English, and I have never even thought of working with her.”*

Regarding Maria Khan and Atiqa Odho, he acknowledged their long careers but noted that they needed to improve their Urdu, since Pakistani dramas are produced in pure Urdu. *“If they learn the language, I would definitely work with them,”* he said.

He admitted that he had never collaborated with either actress before, so their criticism was understandable. Qamar mentioned watching Maria Khan in classics like *Tanhaiyaan* and *Dhoop Kinare*, and Atiqa Odho in dramas such as *Dasht* or *Nijaat*, though he had not followed their later work. *“My wish is that one day they will be satisfied with my work,”* he added.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is known for writing several blockbuster dramas, including *Pyaray Afzal*, *Mere Paas Tum Ho*, *Sadqay Tumharay*, and the recent *Main Manto Nahin Hoon*, which have all received immense audience acclaim.
