Natasha Ali Defends Sisters’ Right to Stay with Parents, Urges Sisters-in-Law to Show Respect

Islamabad: Renowned Pakistani actress Natasha Ali has shed light on a sensitive social issue, stressing that unmarried, divorced, or widowed women have a full right to live in their parents’ home and should not be treated as a burden by their sisters-in-law.

Speaking on a morning show, Natasha noted that in many households, sisters-in-law often develop unnecessary conflicts with their *nand* (husband’s sister). She called this behavior inappropriate and unfair, saying: “If a girl is unmarried, divorced, or widowed, it is her right to live with her parents. Where else should she go? Not everyone can work, and taking one’s life is not a solution.”

She emphasized that sisters-in-law should respect these women, treating them as valued family members rather than outsiders.

The viral clip sparked debate on social media, with many users supporting Natasha’s stance, while others highlighted the need for mutual respect on both sides. One user commented: “It always takes two hands to clap — the *nand* should also respect the *bhabhi* and live with kindness.”

Natasha’s remarks have reignited discussions on empathy, respect, and family dynamics in Pakistani households.
