Lahore High Court Chief Justice Says ‘If Jinns Abducted Woman, They Should Have Been Made a Party’

Lahore: Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Aalia Neelum, remarked that if the missing woman was allegedly abducted by *jinns*, then they should have been made a party in the case.
The observation came during the hearing of a petition regarding the recovery of Fouzia Bibi, who disappeared from Lahore’s Kahna area six years ago. The petitioner’s lawyer claimed that the woman had been taken away by supernatural beings.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the prolonged non-recovery, the Chief Justice summoned Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana to appear in court tomorrow.
During the proceedings, SP CCD Aftab Phulrwan and lawyer Nasir Abbas Punjotha were also present. The petitioner’s counsel informed the court that Fouzia Bibi, aged 29 at the time of disappearance and mother of a son, had gone missing following domestic disputes. According to her mother, she was abducted by jinns.
Justice Neelum questioned why the jinns were not included as a party in the case and asked about the whereabouts of the missing woman’s child. The lawyer replied that the boy was living with his grandmother. To this, the Chief Justice quipped, *“Didn’t the jinns take the child as well?”*
The court directed the CCPO to recover and present the missing woman and adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.
The case was originally registered on May 25, 2019, at Kahna Police Station against Fouzia Bibi’s husband and mother-in-law.
