Lahore:Director General of the **Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab**, Irfan Ali Kathia, has warned of **dangerous water flow** in Punjab’s major rivers, cautioning that the surging tides of the **Chenab and Ravi** may pose further threats.

The DG further stated that at **Balloki on River Ravi**, a wave of **200,000 cusecs** has already arrived, with the flow likely to reduce slightly after peaking at **220,000 cusecs**. He cautioned that the **flood surge is also moving towards Sulemanki Headworks**, and protective measures for headworks, barrages, and bridges are being taken.
Kathia highlighted that Punjab is currently witnessing its **largest-ever rescue operation**, with **Rescue 1122** and the **Pakistan Army** playing a critical role in evacuations and relief efforts. So far, **22 villages near River Sutlej** have been evacuated to ensure public safety.
