Jamaat-e-Islami’s MPA Hidayat ur Rehman Vows to Continue Struggle for Justice and Rights in Balochistan

Quetta: Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch, has declared that the struggle for justice, rights, and dignity for the people of Balochistan will continue. He emphasized the need for unity against those turning Balochistan into a wasteland and stressed that peace and prosperity in the province can only be achieved through fairness and respect for its people.

Addressing delegations and a meeting at the Jamaat-e-Islami provincial secretariat, Rehman stated that the exploitation of Balochistan’s resources and minerals must be stopped collectively, with sincerity and good intentions. He called the issue of missing persons a humanitarian one and warned against politicizing it. “Throwing bodies, using force, military operations, and humiliation at checkpoints are worsening the situation, increasing resentment, and fueling feelings of deprivation,” he said.

He highlighted Jamaat-e-Islami’s active role in raising pressing issues, including a long march from Quetta to Islamabad. “The government gave us written promises to address our demands, and we will ensure those promises are fulfilled. We will hold them accountable for the commitments made to voters,” he added.

He also addressed the water crisis in Gwadar, assuring that the issue will be resolved soon. Stressing the economic potential of open trade routes, he demanded the immediate reopening of borders from Chaman to Gwadar for legal trade, which, he said, would reduce poverty and unemployment in the region.

Criticizing the government’s negligence and its alleged collusion with mafias, Rehman claimed that only a handful of profiteers are benefitting from illegal trade at the borders while legitimate business is being blocked. He vowed to raise this issue at every forum and urged the public to support Jamaat-e-Islami’s movement for justice and rights in Balochistan.
