Chief Minister of Balochistan Offers Dialogue to All Who Surrender Their Arms

Bhit Shah: After attending the annual Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Bhit Shah, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sardar Fazal Baloch, in an exclusive conversation with the media, emphasized that anyone wishing to negotiate with the state must lay down their arms, assuring that they would be embraced with open arms.
He clarified that the government and state have never closed the doors to dialogue. However, he stressed that it is unacceptable for innocent workers to be abducted from buses and subjected to violence.
Balochistan’s Chief Minister also spoke on the issue of violence and highlighted the double standards in how terrorism is perceived. “In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the number of missing persons is higher than in Balochistan, yet the media remains silent. Propaganda is being spread against the state under the guise of missing persons in Balochistan,” he pointed out.
Further discussing the disparity in media coverage of terrorism, he questioned why terrorist activities in Balochistan are given different names compared to other regions, particularly Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where religious-based terrorism is directly condemned. “Why is there a distinction between terrorists in Balochistan and elsewhere?” he asked.
On the recent tragedy at Degari, he stated that for the first time in history, the powerful were held accountable. He vowed that the responsible individuals would face justice. “This is brutality and oppression; tribal society does not operate in such a manner. We stand with the oppressed,” he added.
He also addressed the issue of providing facilities to Iranian pilgrims through air and ferry services, emphasizing that security was not the only challenge. “We have provided full security to the pilgrims throughout the 800 kilometers of their journey,” he explained.
On the subject of media freedom, the Chief Minister praised the Pakistan Peoples Party’s long-standing commitment to the cause of press freedom and urged the media not to view Balochistan through the lens of just three individuals, calling for a broader and fair perspective on the region.
