Concerns Raised Over Decision to Allocate Agricultural College Building to Another Institution in Quetta

Quetta:A delegation has expressed deep concern over the government’s decision to allocate the building of the Agricultural College for another institution. The delegation shared their reservations and apprehensions during a meeting with government officials.
National Party’s central leader and former chairman of Baloch Students Organization (BSO), Mansoor Baloch, stated that **Balochistan’s economy heavily relies on agriculture**, and without modernizing this sector, the province’s development remains unattainable. The establishment of the Agricultural College was aimed at providing students with modern agricultural education and research, he explained.
He emphasized that **undermining educational institutions dedicated to agricultural studies** would be detrimental to the province’s agricultural sector. Mansoor Baloch also criticized the government’s **poor vision** when it had previously closed departments such as **Balochi, Brahui, and Pashto** at the University of Balochistan, and now, with the allocation of the agricultural college’s building to another institution, it demonstrates the government’s **low prioritization of education**.
Mansoor urged the government to **immediately retract the decision** and ensure the establishment of new departments and research centers within the Agricultural College, along with the provision of modern facilities. He emphasized that the **National Party** would continue to raise its voice for the autonomy and development of educational institutions at every available platform.
The meeting also saw the participation of **National Party’s Central Social Media Secretary** Saad Baloch, Dr. Noor Baloch, Fida Jan Belidi, and other leaders. The delegation from the **Students’ Alliance** included BSO’s **Central Vice-Chairman Nazir Baloch**, PSO’s **Senior Central Organizer Syed Zainullah**, **Central Information Organizer Asfandyar**, **Central Finance Organizer Mahmood Achakzai**, **Central Office Organizer Nawaz Khpalk**, and **BS Pajar’s Central Secretary Information Idris Baloch**, along with provincial general secretary **Shamireed Rashid Baloch** and central committee members **Agha Haq Nawaz**, **Shafique Mehr**, and **Waseem Baloch**.
