Balochistan Cabinet Approves Key Public Welfare Projects, Green Tractor Scheme, and Recruitment in All Departments

Quetta: The Balochistan Provincial Cabinet, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, convened an important meeting on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The session resulted in the approval of several significant decisions related to public welfare, governance, development, and security.
Government spokesperson Shahid Rind, briefing the media after the meeting, announced the following key outcomes:
Revitalization of non-functional health units in certain areas of the province with the assistance of the Pakistan Army to ensure basic healthcare at the grassroots level.
Approval of the Green Tractor Scheme, offering 50% subsidy on agricultural tractors to farmers to strengthen the agriculture sector.
Upgradation of trained crop reporters in the Agriculture Department from Grade 6 to Grade 11 in line with a Supreme Court verdict.
Formation of a high-level committee comprising the Secretaries of Finance and Energy to evaluate 150 kW solar energy projects in Lasbela and Hub for technical and financial feasibility.
Additionally, the cabinet:
Approved the creation of the Balochistan Mineral Development Fund to promote transparent utilization and investment in mineral resources.
Passed the Balochistan Contribution Pension Scheme Rules 2025 aimed at introducing a sustainable pension system and reducing future non-development budget burdens.
Decided to enhance the existing laptop policy to promote digital education across the province.
To improve governance and employment:
The cabinet approved recruitment for vacant posts in all provincial departments, including the Sports & Youth Affairs Department.
Approved the establishment of two new police stations in Kohlu, enhanced security for Mangi Dam, and sanctioned new CTD stations in Rakhni and Barkhan, along with jurisdictional adjustments in Loralai and Sibi.
Further decisions included:
Abolishment of free exemptions under the amended arms license rules.
A comprehensive security policy for ministers, advisors, and assembly members.
Cancellation of a 20-acre land lease granted to a private medical institute, following a federal request.
Appointment of Kiran Baloch as Chairperson of the Balochistan Commission on the Status of Women.
Adjustment of intern teachers in Makran and Kech districts.
Approval of proposed rules for the Excise & Taxation Department and amendments to the Journalists’ Welfare Rules.
According to Shahid Rind, these decisions reflect Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti’s vision for a progressive, secure, and people-centric Balochistan. He affirmed that the government remains committed to transparency, merit, and public service, and the outcomes of these reforms will begin to reach the public soon.
