Tribal Jirga on Forest Land Allotment to Be Held in Ziarat on July 24, Minister Noor Mohammad Khan Dummar Calls for Public Participation

Quetta:A pivotal **tribal jirga** on the allotment of forest land will be held today (July 24) in **Ziarat**, under the leadership of **Haji Noor Mohammad Khan Dummar**, the Provincial Minister for Food and a senior member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The jirga will aim to address concerns and clarify rumors surrounding the land allotment process.
In his statement to the media at the **Harnai Press Club**, Minister Dummar explained that the jirga was initially planned to take place in **Ziarat Inter College Hall** but was shifted to **Ziarat Football Ground** due to the overwhelming participation expected from locals. He highlighted that **tribal elders, scholars, political leaders**, and members of **civil society** from the **Ziarat, Harnai, Sanjavi**, and **Shahrag** regions would join the event.
Minister Dummar emphasized that this public **tribal jirga** would serve as a platform to counter the **false propaganda** being spread by some **nationalist and religious groups** regarding the allotment of forest lands in the area. He stressed that the event was organized to inform the people about the **true facts** and provide a transparent explanation regarding the land allotment process.
“The purpose of this jirga is to dispel the **misunderstandings** and **baseless accusations** made by certain rejected nationalist and religious factions. These groups have been attempting to mislead the people of **Ziarat** with **false narratives**,” Dummar said. He also noted that the **PML-N** and **Karwan District Ziarat** would host the jirga at **Ziarat Football Ground**.
The minister asserted that throughout history, the issues of the Ziarat people had always been resolved in accordance with **tribal traditions** and **local consultations**. However, he acknowledged that some elements were attempting to create confusion and mislead the public about the allotment process. He further stated, “We believe in dialogue, consultation, and jirga-based decision-making, not in blame games. We want the people of Ziarat to work in unity and resolve their issues collectively.”
Minister Dummar appealed to all **tribal leaders**, **youth**, and the **residents of Ziarat** to **actively participate** in the jirga, emphasizing the importance of **unity** and **mutual trust** for the betterment of the region’s future.
The meeting on **July 24** is expected to play a significant role in addressing the concerns of the locals and providing clarity on the allotment of the forest land, which has been a topic of much controversy.
