Quetta: Massive Electricity Theft in Sariab, Wires and Poles Worth Rs 7.7 Million Stolen, FIR Registered

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat):** A large-scale electricity theft has been reported in the Sariab area, causing significant damage to the local power system. Thousands of meters of electrical cables, poles, and other valuable equipment have been stolen, with losses estimated at Rs 7.7 million.
According to a report filed by Sub-Divisional Officer Saddam Hussain Ori of the Sariab Electric Division at New Sariab Police Station, on December 31, 2025, the Khuril Grid Station reported power outages due to feeder load shedding. Line Superintendent Wajid Khan inspected the site with his team and discovered that approximately 3,600 meters of electricity wires spanning 12 spans across seven poles in the open area near the Industrial Grid Station had been stolen, and PCC poles were damaged.
Additionally, 1,800 meters of cable and a steel pole were stolen from the 11kV New Mian Mandi feeder, and cables along six poles on the 11kV WASA feeder were also taken.
The Sub-Divisional Officer termed the incident serious and requested strict legal action against the unknown culprits. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the theft.
