Bangladeshi National, Who Lived as a Transgender Woman in India for Years, Arrested by Police

New Delhi, India:A Bangladeshi national, Abdul Kalam, who had been living in India for nearly two decades under the identity of a transgender woman named Neha, was arrested by the police. According to Indian media reports, Abdul Kalam first arrived in India at the age of 10 and initially settled in Mumbai. After residing there for several years, he later moved to Bhopal, where he registered himself as a transgender woman and assumed the name Neha.

Kalam became an active member of the local transgender community and was able to acquire all the necessary legal documents as an Indian citizen, including a ration card, voter ID, and passport. Using his Indian passport, he even traveled to Bangladesh multiple times without ever raising suspicion.

Indian authorities arrested Abdul Kalam in a covert operation, and a case has been registered against him under charges of illegal immigration, forgery, and compromising national security. The police are currently interrogating him, and further investigations are underway.

This incident has raised questions about the security loopholes in the process of issuing official documents and how an individual could successfully acquire Indian citizenship and travel abroad while remaining undetected for such an extended period.
