Jamaat-e-Islami to Hold Long March on July 25 in Protest Against Unrest, Border Closure, and Missing Persons in Balochistan

Quetta:Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, has announced that the party will hold a long march to Islamabad on July 25, to protest against the ongoing unrest, border closure, and the issue of missing persons in Balochistan.

Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman stated that the long march would begin at 10 AM from the Hockey Ground in Quetta and head towards Islamabad. He said that Balochistan is currently facing severe instability, and national highways are not safe. Despite spending 83 billion rupees on law and order in the province, peace has not been established. He criticized the government for imposing travel restrictions at night instead of taking effective measures to restore security.

He also raised concerns over the lack of action against corruption, smuggling, and crimes such as theft and extortion, despite decisions made in the Apex Committee to tackle smuggling. He said that the border closure has adversely affected around 2.5 million people in the province.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman further demanded that the issue of missing persons be addressed immediately. He also condemned the recent killing of nine individuals in Zhob, calling it an inhumane act.
