Two Cricketers Killed in Shooting at Mastung Ground; Highway Blocked in Protest

Mastung: Two cricketers were killed after unidentified armed men opened fire during a cricket match in Mastung, prompting their families and supporters to block the Quetta-Karachi National Highway in protest, police said.
According to police sources, the shooting occurred at a cricket ground near Shamsabad Cross, where a match was underway. Unidentified gunmen opened fire, killing two players at the scene.
Police said the victims belonged to the Christian community. The attackers fled the area after the incident, while law enforcement personnel reached the scene and launched an investigation.
Following the killings, the victims’ relatives staged a protest by blocking the Quetta-Karachi National Highway, demanding justice and the arrest of those responsible.
The road blockade caused long queues of vehicles on both sides of the highway, leaving travelers stranded for several hours. Police said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the attackers, while investigations into the motive behind the shooting continue.
